fireflies
I had the opportunity to go hiking up hikosan again (I did it in Fall of 2015). Hikosan is a beautiful hike and although it is now pre-summer, the hike is still worth the heat. That said, the hike was hot. It was overcast so we didn't get a view from the top, but we at least got in good exercise. We took the shorter route this time around so the hike totaled a little over 3 hours. After the hike, we attended a small town community firefly gathering. Supposedly the fireflies are only present for a 1-week window so it was a treat to see the fireflies. We had dinner with some of the locals of Soeda-town and had a good time. After a long day, it was nice to be home.
